The Eritrean People’s Liberation Front (EPLF) said it supports Ethiopia’s territorial integrity and condemns US intervention in the Horn of Africa.
Secretary-General of the Front, Al-Amin Mohammed Ali, made the announcement in an interview with Eritrean Television on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Eritrean Revolution.
He said the Horn of Africa continues to be embroiled in conflict as a result of the United States’ misguided policy and interference towards the region.
He reaffirmed his country’s support for Ethiopia’s territorial integrity and said it would not accept US intervention in Ethiopia’s internal affairs.
“They want to dismantle the Horn of Africa. Look at what they have done in Somalia and what they are doing in Ethiopia today. What do they have to do with what is happening in Ethiopia? Isn’t this an internal matter?” He asked.
The United States is interfering in Eritrea and Ethiopia’s internal affairs as the latter do not accept the United States’ desire to bring the TPLF back to power.
He said instability in Ethiopia and the Horn poses a direct threat to regional peace, especially in Eritrea.
The US agenda is to dismantle the Horn of Africa; “Our choice is to work with Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and Djibouti to ensure peace,” said the secretary general.
