Addis Ababa, June 15, 2026 (VOE): The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission has announced that preparations have been finalized to convene the country’s historic National Dialogue Conference in Addis Ababa beginning July 15, 2026. The announcement aligns with recent statements by the Commission regarding the commencement of the nationwide forum.
According to the Commission’s call for participation, this will be the first initiative of its kind in Ethiopia’s history, bringing together issues that have been identified through public consultations across the country and among Ethiopians living abroad as sources of disagreement and division. The conference is intended to facilitate nationwide deliberations and generate recommendations on key national issues through an inclusive dialogue process.
The Commission stated that it has completed all necessary preparations to hold the National Dialogue Conference in Addis Ababa starting on July 15, 2026.
It also called on all Ethiopians to stand alongside the Commission and make every possible contribution toward the success of this historic national undertaking.
Furthermore, the Commission urged representatives of the various social groups and stakeholders selected to participate in the conference to continue making comprehensive preparations to ensure the successful conduct of the National Dialogue Conference.
