I am incensed by the July 6, press briefing by the US State department about Ethiopia’s internal matter. The readout of Secretary Blinken’s call with Prime minister Abiy Ahmed and the answers given by the state department’s spoken person are in clear violation of the sovereignty of Ethiopia. Simply, the US state department is telling Ethiopia’s Prime minister how to run Ethiopia. This is beyond comprehension. America should understand that even though Ethiopia is a poor country it is an independent country. Diplomacy is not giving orders to independent, sovereign nations. This is so outrageous! This is pure imperialism!
America’s political elite is clearly siding with the TPLF and Tigray. Ethiopia is a country of 115 million people. Tigray’s population is 6 million. TPLF and Tigray elites dictatorially ruled Ethiopia for 27 years. Popular uprising ended TPLF’s Ethiopia rule in April 2018. Now America is helping TPLF to tip the scale once again. Had America cared about human beings, it would side with the more than 100 million Ethiopian’s. the Ethiopian government announced unilateral ceasefire and left Tigray on June 28, 2021.
Now the US and the EU are asking (or ordering?) the federal government to “restore infrastructure in Tigray and allow unrestricted access to western journalists (undercover spies??)”. This obviously moving the goal post yet again. Even though I criticize PM Abiy Ahmed, I completely disagree with America’s approach. Just like American’s, Ethiopian’s are also freedom loving and God-fearing people.
America’s TPLF sided interference in Ethiopia is morally and spiritually wrong. Poor people have dignity and pride. Even God would disapprove of such blatant arrogance towards Ethiopia. If possible be an impartial arbiter, if not please do not side with the TPLF.
Is Tigray a US State now?
AMERICA STOP MOVING THE GOAL POST TIME AND AGA.
